A Survivor’s Paddle.
A 202 km Rideau Canal voyage for Breast Cancer Awareness: Sept 24 - Oct 3, 2026
Resilience on Rideau.
This fall, as I celebrate my final year of remission from breast cancer, I'll embark on a 10-day, 202-kilometre solo kayak expedition along the historic Rideau Canal, paddling from Ottawa to Kingston.
This journey will raise funds and awareness for Rethink Breast Cancer, supporting young people with the resources, advocacy, and community they need to thrive beyond a breast cancer diagnosis.
After summiting Mount Kilimanjaro as part of my advocacy, this expedition marks the next chapter in proving that survivors are unstoppable. Along the way, I'll share daily stories, connect with communities at lock stations, and finish with a public celebration in Kingston, Ontario.
Kilimanjaro: Summit of Strength
About the Climb
In February 2026, I solo summitted Mount Kilimanjaro - Africa’s highest peak - to honour my final year of remission from breast cancer. This journey represented the resilience, hope, and courage that define life after cancer.
With me, I carried a flag with the names of survivors, lost loved ones and those still fighting. Each step toward the summit was to honour those still navigating their own challenges and celebrate the strength that carries us all forward.
This campaign was in support of Rethink Breast Cancer, whose innovative programs help individuals navigate the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship while building a stronger, more informed community.
